Thumb Lock was originally designed for the U.S. Navy to secure high-tech equipment at sea. It is now used by all branches of the military for vehicle, aircraft and shipboard applications. After sea trials and rigorous performance testing, Thumb Lock was recently added for duty aboard the Trident Nuclear Sub Fleet.

About Thumb Lock - The Adhesive The adhesive used for the Thumb Lock system is the strongest self-sticking adhesive made by the 3M company. It provides exceptional holding strength in conditions of heavy vibration and jarring movement. Remarkably, the adhesive is non-hardening and peels off cleanly from most fastening surfaces, even gloss wood finishes. This allows the use of Thumb Lock for temporary Hold-down applications (on trips) without risk of damage to countertops or furniture. Replacement adhesive pads are available to reuse the fasteners.

Fasteners -Model T-1, T-2, T-4: Injection molded GPC Delta ABS plastic. (UV inhibitors in white only).  Model T-6: Injection molded polycarbonate, LEXAN™ 141

Locking Strap (colored) - Polyurethane coated polyester webbing, 3/4" and 1" width, thickness .060", rated breaking strength 1,000 lb./inch width, operating temperature (+ 225o to -40o). Strap is weather proof and tear proof. It can be perforated, sewn, riveted, heat welded, screw-fixed, and cuts to size with scissors.

Locking Strap (white) -Vinyl coated polyester webbing (with UV inhibitors). Width, thickness, rated breaking strength, and use options are the same as above. Operating temperature (+225o to -20o F).

3/4" & 1" Wide Straps are Available in 4'Lengths & 100'Rolls

A Fastening Set Consists of:
Two(2) Thumb Lock Fasteners and 
One(1) Locking Straps. The fasteners can be moved and locked in either direction on the strap, providing unlimited adjustments for fastening unusual sizes and shapes.
