 Sciline's "Safe-Shelf" Barriers Protect Against Earthquake Fall-Off
and  Make for a
Safer Working Environment
The pictured 2" High X 1/4" Thick, Clear, Acrylic Barriers are supported and held in place at each End and in the Center by Sciline's Self-Adhering, Stainless Steel "SAFE-SHELF " Brackets
  These Brackets can be Affixed to the Shelf Itself or to the Shelving Unit Side-Walls At or  Above Shelf Level  by means of 3M VHBTM (Very High Bond) Double-Sided,  Tape Adhesive.   
This Adhesive is rated by 3M at 80 lbs Per Square Inch of Shear Resistance.  This gives Each of Sciline's Brackets 160 lbs of Shear Resistance.  Bracket Anchoring Feet are also Pre-drilled for Screws for added Holding Strength when deemed necessary.
Center Support Brackets can be supplied adjustable to conform to Vertical Positioning of the End Brackets on Side Walls (Pictured at Left) or Standard for Horizontal, On-Shelf Positioning.
"Safe-Shelf" End  Brackets are
2" Wide X 2" High with 1/4" ID
Channels and 1" X 2" Anchoring Feet with Pre-drilled Screw Holes

2" High , Double Stainless Steel, Rod Barriers in place 1" Above Shelf Level in BioChem Stockroom.  Both Stainless Steel & Acrylic Barriers are used in this UC Stockroom.  This 4'  Wide Barrier is supported at each End by Side-Wall Mounted Brackets and In Between by Sciline's "L" Brackets with Adjustable Barrier Supports.

  1. Standard BARRIERS are available in 2" High, Glass-Clear Acrylic or Stainless Steel Rod. BARRIER Lengths are Customized to Customers Requirements
  2. All Support HARDWARE, i.e., The Channel-Brackets, etc., into which the BARRIERS Fit, are STAINLESS STEEL. All Brackets, "L" Supports and other SUPPORT HARDWARE CAN BE AFFIXED TO THE SHELVES THEMSELVES OR TO THE SIDE-WALLS OF THE SHELVING UNIT AT ANY DESIRED ELEVATION AT OR ABOVE SHELF LEVEL. This is accomplished through the use of 3M, VHBTM(Very High Bond) Adhesive Pads which BOND WITH CLEAN WOOD AND METAL SURFACES OVER A 72 HOUR PERIOD. These Double-Sided, Adhesive Pads Exert a Shear Resistance of 80 Pounds Per Square Inch.
  3. HARDWARE and BARRIERS INSTALL IN SECONDS WITHOUT THE USE OF TOOLS, NUTS, BOLTS OR SCREWS. SIMPLY PEEL THE ADHESIVE BACKING FROM BRACKETS, ETC., AND PRESS THEM INTO PLACE. BARRIERS Are Then Placed Into The Bracket Channels To Complete The Job.
  4. BARRIERS WILL HELP TO CONTAIN ITEMS (GLASSWARE, INSTRUMENTS, CHEMICALS, ETC.) ON SHELVES IN THE EVENT OF AN EARTHQUAKE.
  5. BARRIERS ARE EASILY REMOVED FOR CLEANING OR SHELF RESTOCKING.
